About ReptiHabitat

ReptiHabitat exists because reptile care is environmental engineering, and the numbers decide welfare.

Reptiles do not regulate their own temperature — husbandry IS the animal's physiology. A basking spot five degrees off changes digestion; UVB output determines whether calcium works; humidity bands decide shedding success. The database holds the standard numbers for 16 commonly kept species.

Each entry lists basking and ambient temperatures, UVB class, humidity band, and minimum enclosure sizes — with the two sentences on temperament and the mistakes that matter.

We are keepers and educators, not a pet store. Nothing here sells animals or equipment, and the table works offline.

What makes ReptiHabitat different

  • Your numbers never leave your browser. Every calculator on ReptiHabitat runs entirely on your device. We never see, store, or transmit the figures you enter — there are no accounts and no server-side processing of your inputs.
  • Published methodology. Each calculator page explains the exact formula it uses and the assumptions behind it, so you can check our work or reproduce it in a spreadsheet.
  • Free, forever, without a paywall. ReptiHabitat is supported by advertising. There is no premium tier, no email gate, and no upsell.

Independence

ReptiHabitat is an independent educational project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government agency, lender, insurer, or the organizations whose formulas and public data we reference (such as published husbandry standards and veterinary herpetology guidance). All trademarks and referenced standards belong to their respective owners.
