Profile & Natural History

Sand boas spend their lives under substrate with just eyes and nose at the surface — the husbandry insight is that floor area and substrate depth ARE the enclosure (height is nearly irrelevant). Under-tank heat on a thermostat, deep aspen (never sand despite the name — impaction risk), and the comedy of a snake that ambushes from beneath. Feeding response is legendary; handle after meals, not before.
